Fakepace

Draw a running route, set the pace, export it as TCX.

Where it came from

It started as a joke on Threads about people paying someone else to fill in their Strava. If that market exists, the tool may as well exist too.

What it does

Fakepace lets you draw a route on a map, set pace and elevation, add simulated heart rate, then download a TCX file ready to upload to Strava or Garmin Connect.

The interesting parts to build

  • Routes that snap to real roads. A drawn line is fitted to actual streets rather than straight segments between points.
  • Pace and elevation that hold up. The generated numbers have to stay consistent across the route, including on climbs.
  • TCX that platforms accept. The format is fussy; a file that drifts slightly gets rejected.

Status

A live, paid product starting at IDR 5,000 per file, with its own guides and articles. The traffic is real.
